[Sticky] How to use the WRBB Newsblog

Hey DJs!

As you probably know, we here at WRBB require that the news be read every day at Noon and 5PM. I'll have a signup sheet posted weekly in the on-air studio for people to initial times when they plan on reading the news. What you actually will read will be posted here on this blog for you to pull up.

When you do the news, please speak loudly and clearly. Any critique of the events described (which is very welcome and an excellent way of providing good on-air content) should be saved until after the read is complete. Your script should go as follows:

"Good afternoon, my name is _________. This is a WRBB News Update. The time is ____.

[proceed to reading the content. be sure to mention sources when written.]

This has been a WRBB News Update, I'm _______. For comments and questions, please email us at WRBBNewsDesk@gmail.com."

Enjoy it! I'll keep the articles relevant and interesting so we have fun doing it.

Cheers everyone,
Andy

US Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has accused the Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama, of associating with terrorists.

She said he had been "palling around" with an ex-member of US-based militant group Weather Underground, which opposed the Vietnam War in the 1960s.

Mr Obama once served on a charity board with a member of the group, Mr. Bill Ayers, who is now a professor at the University of Illinois.

The White House hopeful, who was a child when Weather Underground was active, has denounced Mr Ayers' radical past.

Three of Salvatore F. DiMasi's oldest friends, lobbyists Richard W. McDonough, John J. McGlynn Jr., and John E. Murphy Jr. have vaulted into the top ranks of the Beacon Hill influence trade since DiMasi became House speaker in 2004.

All three were among the 20 highest-paid lobbyists last year.

Neither McDonough nor McGlynn returned calls seeking comment. A spokesman for Murphy - a former House majority leader - said his professional success has nothing to do with his personal relationship with DiMasi.

O.J. Simpson faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison after he and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart were found guilty on 12 charges, including armed robbery and kidnapping.

The case involved a Las Vegas, Nevada, hotel room confrontation over sports memorabilia. Simpson said the items had been stolen from him.

Friday's verdicts came 13 years to the day after a Los Angeles jury acquitted Simpson of killing his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.
